Families looking for an unforgettable summer adventure can head to Knowsley Safari as the popular Camp Knowsley returns for the school holidays with more activities and extra Safari Sleepover dates.

Running from Monday, July 20 to Monday, August 31, Camp Knowsley offers a packed programme of bushcraft experiences designed to help children and adults discover new outdoor skills while enjoying a day surrounded by wildlife.

Set within the Safari’s woodland, visitors can take part in hands-on survival challenges, nature-inspired crafts and interactive activities suitable for the whole family.

Best of all, Camp Knowsley is included in the standard admission price, giving visitors even more value throughout the summer holidays.

Bushcraft challenges and outdoor fun for all ages

Every day, guests can test themselves with the popular Bushtucker Challenge, tackling a range of survival skills, including:

  • Fire-lighting
  • First aid techniques
  • Paracord survival bracelet making
  • Stone Age tool pendant crafting
  • Bug eating challenges

Families can also enjoy a variety of woodland activities, including:

  • Nature trails
  • Den building
  • Campfire pancake making
  • Marshmallow toasting
  • Learning how to purify water in the wild

The activities are designed to encourage children to get outdoors, build confidence and learn practical skills while having fun during the school break.

Visitors can also take advantage of the Government’s Great British Summer Savings Scheme, with discounted admission available throughout the holidays.

For those planning multiple visits, Knowsley Safari is also launching its Great British Summer Pass from 6 July until 31 August, offering unlimited visits for the duration of the summer.

The pass costs £45.50 for adults and £41.13 for children, allowing families to enjoy the Safari as often as they like.

Safari Sleepovers offer a unique overnight wildlife experience

For families wanting to extend their adventure, Knowsley Safari is once again hosting its popular Safari Sleepovers, giving guests the opportunity to spend the night surrounded by more than 500 animals.

The overnight experience includes accommodation in an explorer-style bell tent complete with beds and cosy blankets, while guests can enjoy exclusive activities including:

  • A VIP Safari Tour
  • Campfire songs
  • Cooking breakfast over an open fire
  • Full access to all Camp Knowsley bushcraft activities

Guests will fall asleep close to some of the Safari’s most iconic residents, including Southern white rhinos, Amur tigers, giraffes, zebras and Andean bears.

Safari Sleepovers will take place on Saturday, August 8, 15 and 22, with just eight tents available on each date. Each bell tent can accommodate up to four people.

Helena Berry, Head of Marketing & Sales at Knowsley Safari, said the attraction is excited to offer families even more ways to enjoy the outdoors this summer.

She said:

“We’re thrilled to be expanding Camp Knowsley this year, offering families great value days out and even more opportunities to get hands-on, explore, learn new skills and immerse themselves in the great outdoors, as well as more chances to experience the Safari under the Stars with our extra special Safari Sleepover.

“Guests can combine our action-packed bushcraft programme with the chance to see amazing animals up close.

“Running every day in the summer holidays, this will be our wildest summer ever!”

Camp Knowsley daytime activities are included with standard admission, while Safari Sleepovers are priced at £600 per tent.

Families can find out more and book their place via the Knowsley Safari website here.
