Families across Merseyside are being invited to enjoy a day of activities at Bowring Park in Knowsley this Bank Holiday, as the park continues its transformation into one of the region’s most vibrant community spaces.
Taking place on Monday, 4 May from 11 am to 3 pm, the Early May Bank Holiday Family Fun Day will bring together a wide range of activities designed to keep children entertained and families together outdoors.
Visitors will be treated to a free tribute K-Pop show performing hits such as the chart-topping song Golden.
The line-up also includes a free magic show, lawn games, nature trails, and a kids’ disco.
Alongside the free entertainment, guests can choose to pay for face painting, glitter tattoos, hair braiding, and access to three bouncy castles.
A Growing Community Hub

The event is part of a wider programme of activity at Bowring Park, which has seen a significant increase in visitors since the management company onday took over the venue.
Oisín Hennessy, Project Lead at onday, said:
“We want Bowring to be somewhere families can come and spend the whole day.
“This event is about bringing people together, giving kids something to enjoy, and creating an atmosphere where there’s always something happening.”
The day will also showcase a number of local traders and independent businesses, including bakeries, boutique retailers, and craft stalls, helping to support the local economy while adding to the festival atmosphere.
Encouraging Outdoor Play
Organisers expect a strong attendance following a series of successful recent events at the park. This celebration forms part of a growing calendar of activity, with further live music and community initiatives planned throughout the summer months.
Oisín Hennessy added:
“This is just the start.
“We’re building something in Knowsley where every weekend feels like there’s something going on.
“We want families to spend their days in open green spaces, and not stuck indoors staring at screens. Events like these help make that happen.”
The Early May Bank Holiday Family Fun Day will be held at Bowring Park in Huyton on Monday, 4 May, between 11 am and 3 pm.
Entry is free, as are many of the primary activities, though some optional activities will require payment.
