Marking its 10th anniversary in style, the team behind LEAF on Bold Street are delighted to announce the opening of the newest addition to their family of venues: LEAF on Smithdown.
The unique independent tea shop & bar has continued to bring quality loose-leaf tea to the city in an intimate and bohemian space, as well as serving delicious food and drinks in their striking art deco building. Â LEAF on Bold Street opened in 2010, serving up a menu of locally sourced and freshly made wholesome food and countless varieties of loose-leaf tea in a great atmosphere. This winning combination making it the perfect place for people to relax, enjoy culture and soak up the best in new music.
Natalie Haywood, founder of LEAF says: “’We’re so excited that the transformation of this iconic site is almost complete, and we’re chuffed with our new home. Housed in the former Hattons train shop, we’re really excited to take LEAF to the vibrant neighborhood of Allerton and Smithdown – an area where we have spent our childhoods and a place we really care about.’
Having been on the lookout for a new site away from the city centre for many years, and with the company directors having been born and bred in the area, it was an unmissable opportunity and the perfect location to open LEAF’s new local.
The venue will take the lead from its city sister on Bold Street, with a varied menu running through from breakfast to evening and serving their 60+ varieties of loose-leaf tea. LEAF on Smithdown will work with a lot of the same suppliers as LEAF on Bold Street, with a focus on ethical, diverse and wholesome produce.
The opening of the new venue marked the start of LEAF’s 10th anniversary on Bold Street. During the past decade LEAF has become a community hub in the heart of Liverpool and LEAF on Smithdown will bring the same tea, music and good times.
LEAF on Smithdown joins the flagship venue LEAF on Bold Street, LEAF on Portland St (Manchester), OH ME OH MY, One Fine Day and The Garden at FACT.
The new venue & Tea House opened its doors on Wednesday 4th September.
