Amalia Italian Restaurant Liverpool WINS best pizza in England

The ‘Best Pizza in England’ has been named at the 7th annual English Italian Awards, and the winner is a Liverpool restaurant called Amalia.

Amalia, which recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, has now won the award for a record third time after also winning in 2016 and 2017.

Amalia Italian Restaurant Liverpool WINS best pizza in England

Since its opening, the ‘hidden gem’ restaurant in Campbell Square, just off Duke Street and Hanover Street, has won a staggering number of awards. The latest ‘Best Pizza in England’ award is a testament to its long-term quality and consistency, with 5-star reviews continuing to pour in.

Amalia has won ‘Best Pizza in England’ for the third time in a row, adding to their previous awards of Best Team in England and Chef of the Year in the English Italian Awards, one of the most prestigious in the UK hospitality industry. The latest award was presented at a prestigious ceremony held at Leeds’ The Queens Hotel.

Following the success of The Scottish Italian Awards, which were established in 2015, The English Italian Awards are said to be one of the most difficult hospitality awards to win. The English Italian Awards are completely unbiased and independent, and are supported by major sponsors such as Angelo Poretti, Worldpay, S.Pellegrino, and others.

The awards take pride in being the most fair contest in the country, giving power to the people who really matter, the general public. People are asked to vote for their favourite restaurants in various categories before a panel of esteemed independent judges visits them to evaluate them.

Amalia’s pizzas are popular for their thin bases and soft, doughy crusts, and The English Italian Awards judges named them the best in the country for the third time in seven years. Starters, pasta, seafood, burgers, and delectable Italian desserts are also available on the menu. Mon-Fri 12pm-5pm, the restaurant offers a popular lunch special of a pizza or pasta dish plus a drink for just £10.95.

Co-Founder Miguel Queipo said:

“I can’t state enough how much this means to us as an independent restaurant. I must say a huge thank you to all our staff, customers and the general public who voted for us. We’ve retained our title as having the best pizza in England but that doesn’t mean we’ll be getting complacent — in fact we’re going for more awards!”

Amalia will compete for the title of Best Pizza in the UK at the UK Italian Awards on November 8th, an honour that will further cement their reputation as one of the best Italian restaurants in the UK. With double digit awards, this ‘hidden gem’ of a restaurant off the beaten path continues to enjoy huge success despite the industry’s difficulties.

Enjoy a Pizza or Pasta dish & a drink for £10.95pp / Mon-Fri 12pm-5pm, to book a table you can visit their website here or call 0151 709 0402.
