A Thousand Feet Deep by Periplum is a dramatic outdoor performance spectacular exploring the history and spirit of Knowsley – in way you never will have imagined.
On Friday 7, Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 October Stadt Moers Park will be transformed to host this immersive experience that tells unique stories from the borough.
The 50-minute performance will take you on an atmospheric journey exploring Knowsley’s myths and folklore. Magical characters are calling from the quarrylands – the caverns, mines and secret tunnels where the traces of our ancestors’ labour and legends can still be found. A unique narrative of the borough begins to unfold exploring our industries and tales of the people that powered them.
Outdoor theatre makers, Periplum have worked with communities across the borough to gather stories, histories, myths and legends that will be translated into the performance, which will be accompanied by a soundtrack written by Barry Han, Mike Simmonds, Claire Raftery & Damian Wright.

You will work with a team of expert practitioners, who will give you on-site training and workshops in outdoor performance. During the show you will accompany the action, moving through the audience as part of a team, with visual props, fire torches and other pyrotechnic effects.
