Forever Reds raises over £75,000 at this year’s Christmas Lunch

The official former players association of LFC, Forever Reds, raised an astonishing £75,000 for former players and local charitable causes during its highly successful annual Christmas Lunch event.

More than twenty-five legends attended the festive event at Anfield; among them were Ian Rush, John Barnes, Sir Kenny Dalglish, Becky Easton, Ian Rush, Natasha Dowie, John Aldridge, Phil Thompson, and Sir Kenny Dalglish.

John Aldridge began by introducing himself and outlining the purpose of the event. After, Ian Rush and Sir Kenny Dalglish participated in a Q&A session and reminisced about their playing days together.

Following a three-course festive feast, attendees participated in another Q&A with Phil Thompson, Natasha Dowie, and John Barnes. They talked about the current men’s and women’s teams’ back-to-back United matches this Sunday.

Money-can’t-buy gifts and experiences, such as VIP passes, autographed football shirts, and tickets to the March LFC Foundation Legends game, were up for grabs at the live auction.

Alfie Boe, a lifelong Liverpool supporter, ended the performance with songs from the Mersey songbook, which included the well-known club anthem, You’ll Never Walk Alone.

The purpose of the yearly Christmas celebration is to help those in need and raise funds for former players. Through the LFC Foundation, Forever Reds also donates proceeds from these special events to causes that are dear to their hearts.

John Aldridge, chairman of Forever Reds, said:

“What a fantastic event it has been yet again.  It was incredible to see so many fans of this great club come to support Forever Reds and the work we do for former players and local charities.  Three of the charities we’ve helped this year attended Alder Hey, Alzheimer’s Society and Zoe’s Place.

“As former players we look forward to this event, it’s great to get back together and help to raise money.  We’re thankful to everyone who supported us, it was a great event as usual, and we hope everybody enjoyed it as much as we did.”

The club’s goal to make sure that former players always feel like a part of the LFC family has motivated the creation of Forever Reds. It does this by offering support, getting them involved in meaningful work in the community, and keeping them updated on new developments.

The annual Forever Reds Golf Day is the upcoming Forever Reds event; more information will be released soon.
