Botanico in Woolton Village has opening its doors

Botanico, a new all-day eatery in the heart of Woolton Village, has opened its doors.

Open every day, Botanico will have something for everyone, including a delectable breakfast and brunch menu, all-day wood-fired pizza, and an evening bistro offering.

Botanico, which was created by the Cillo family behind Liverpool’s popular Italian Quarter in the city centre, is family-friendly with a dedicated children’s menu, ideal for groups of friends, and ideal for couples.

Botanico has 90 seats across its restaurant and a beautiful 30-person tea room terrace reserved for afternoon tea guests in a fully covered and heated space. This area is available for private hire.

Fry Ups, Benedicts, Pancakes, French Toast, and a selection of the venue’s specials, such as steak and eggs, breakfast burgers, avocado toast, chicken and waffles, homemade Borlotti beans on toast, and a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, will be available on Botanico’s extensive breakfast and brunch menu.

Botanico’s all-day wood-fired pizza menu, as well as pasta dishes, sandwiches, burgers, and salads, is available beginning at 12pm, providing the ideal lunchtime selection that continues into evening service.

From 5pm, the bistro menu is available, which includes delectable starters such as burrata with heritage tomato salad, slow-cooked pulled beef with potato puree, beetroot hummus with warm, homemade focaccia, and chicken wings with sweet chilli and honey glaze.

The beautifully prepared Confit Duck Leg with charred chicory and green lentils served with a ruby cherry sauce and beetroot gel, the Crispy Seabass Fillet served with winter squash risotto and safe creme fraiche, and the classic Pollo Milanese served with spaghetti, pomodoro sauce, and parmesan cheese are among the main courses.

Botanico’s menu accommodates all dietary needs, including vegan options such as vegan penne arrabbiata, vegan pizzas, and a vegan plant-based burger. There are gluten-free options on the breakfast and brunch menus, and vegetarian options are available on all menus.

Botanico, owned by Donato and Antonio Cillo, will bring together some of the Italian Quarter’s most popular delicacies. The restaurant will offer a takeaway bakery with 10-12 different types of sourdough croissants with various fillings, doughnuts, cakes, and a selection of sourdough breads, including wholewheat, all baked fresh daily by their talented team.

Botanico’s delicate afternoon tea will also be made from handcrafted cakes such as a tiramisu macaron, salted caramel croissant, passionfruit and pistachio slice, orange cheesecake, and plain and chocolate chip scones.

Pastrami with homemade truffle aioli and rocket, smoked salmon and dill cream cheese, Coronation chicken, and egg mayonnaise will be served on Botanico’s freshly baked bread.

Botanico’s Afternoon Tea is £24.95 per person with a glass of prosecco and tea or coffee included. Luxury Afternoon Tea is £29.95 per person which includes a glass of champagne and tea or coffee and Children’s Afternoon Tea is £14 per person.

Botanico is open from Sunday to Thursday from 8.30am-9pm and Friday and Saturday from 8.30am-9.30pm.

Bookings are open and can be made here.

Owner Donato Cillo explained:

“We’re very excited to be opening Botanico; a venue that is ideal for families, groups of friends or couples. We’ve created an extensive menu that caters for all so that our guests can choose dishes according to how they feel on the day. All of our dishes have been carefully created to ensure we offer a variety of flavours, textures and have something for all dietary requirements.

“After enjoying over 14 years of success in the Italian Quarter in Liverpool, myself and Antonio are bringing popular dishes as well as our homemade bakery to Woolton Village where our visitors can purchase loaves of bread, handmade croissants, cakes and doughnuts and or enjoy them in the comfort of Botanico’s beautiful surroundings.”

Antonio Cillo added:

“Botanico has been designed to reflect a bright, airy and vibrant space with greenery and leafy  features. Creating a beautiful atmosphere, the venue’s interior provides the perfect backdrop for our guests to come and enjoy their surroundings whilst tucking into delicious dishes from across our detailed menu.

“With bookings now open from Sunday 15th October, we’re all very excited to welcome our guests and enjoy our first winter in Woolton Village.”
