Liverpool FC players surprise fans with live gig reveal of third kit

Liverpool FC’s Alisson Becker, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Missy Bo Kearns surprised fans by unexpectedly revealing this season’s new third kit at a free fan event.

The live reveal took place at Liverpool’s historic Eventim Olympia in collaboration with Boss Nights, who had invited hundreds of Liverpool fans to a sell-out pre-season concert. But this was an LFC-themed gig.

The three players appeared on stage during a rendition of ‘Allez, Allez, Allez’ to unveil the club’s third shirt live and exclusive to fans.

Before inviting Szoboszlai and Kearns to join him on stage wearing the new jersey, goalkeeper Alisson first came out and impressed on lead guitar with singer Kieo. Alisson wore the LFC x Nike Tech Fleece Hoodie.

Following the live reveal this kit is now available to pre-order on LFC’s official online store (UK and Internationally) and the LFC Store App for delivery from the official launch day 17 August.

A closer look at the kit reveals a purple ripple pattern with black sleeve cuff, black collarbone inserts and black side panelling. Matching shorts and purple ripple socks complete the matchday kit. Purple was last worn by the Reds during the 18/19 season.

All kits have on the reverse, the 97-emblem encased by the eternal flames sits proudly at the nape of the neck in memory of those children, women and men who were unlawfully killed as a result of the Hillsborough disaster.

The LFC crest and Nike Swoosh logos have a unique speckled finish from Nike Grind, which is made by transforming manufacturing scrap and end-of-life shoes into new recycled materials.

For this season when the kit is worn in European competitions it will feature the LFC Foundation patch on the reverse.  LFC Foundation are the club’s official charity who provide life changing opportunities for young people and families both home and away.

The LFC Foundation patch can also be purchased for £5 and printed on the reverse of the shirt with proceeds supporting LFC Foundation’s international programmes.

The change kit completes the line up for this season alongside the new 70s inspired home and 90s inspired awaykits.

Campaign imagery released shot at the Eventim Olympia for the kit launch features new men’s skipper Virgil van Dijk alongside teammates Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cody Gakpo, Alexis Mac Allister and Ibrahima Konate.  Women’s players include Missy Bo Kearns, Taylor Hinds and Gemma Bonner.

Both stadium and match jerseys have Nike’s Dri-FIT technology to help stay cool during intense games or training sessions.

In line with LFC’s The Red Way sustainability programme, the Nike kit is sustainably made, with on the pitch and replica jerseys constructed with 100% recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.

Plastic bottles are collected, cleaned and melted down to produce a high-quality yarn for manufacturing and is part of Nike’s wider Move to Zero initiative, with football apparel leading the way in sustainability.

The club’s name and number style for the back of shirt, takes inspiration from the city, with a contemporary take on Liverpool’s historic street signs. The product is printed with water-based inks as a more sustainable option and will be worn for cup competitions and friendlies.

Available in men’s, women’s and junior sizes, and in a match and stadium version. Jerseys can also be personalised with the brand-new Premier League name and number.

As with previous seasons, the club is offering a 10% discount off the price of the new kits to all LFC official members and season ticket holders. This is also available for UK key workers via Blue Light and Network and students via Student Beans. More information on eligibility and how to redeem the discount can be found here.

Other items on 17 August launch day will include the second retail goalkeeper kit and more from the training and lifestyle collection. The Third collection will be complete in September when the final training and lifestyle pieces will be added to the collection.
