Set in the beautiful mezzanine space at Duke Street Market, the brand-new Scouse brasserie ‘Barnacle’ has revealed two new bespoke services to savour on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

New Year’s Eve is a sumptuous curation across 8 courses which includes ‘New Liverpool Seafood Chowder’ – crab, clam, cockles, Southport smoked pork, kohlrabi; venison, sloes and girolle; red poll beef, langoustine, Growing Field’s Roscoff; and Chocolate, chestnut, Morton’s double cream, Wirral raw milk butter. This is £85 per person.

Harry Marquart says: “We are all so happy with opening Barnacle and it’s been brilliant here ever since. The feedback for our menus – the main dishes and also our bar snacks and drinks – has been truly wonderful and we already feel at home at Duke Street Market. Our festive menus are something extra special for anyone wanting to celebrate Xmas Eve and New Year’s Eve in fine style. We have curated two lovely dining experiences from our kitchen at Barnacle to add some magic to the festive season.”

Helmed by a quartet of brilliant chefs – The Art School’s Paul Askew, Bone and Block’s Harry Marquart and local kitchen stars Kieran Gill and Jake Lewis – their vision embodies the soul of Liverpool.

This spans its maritime history and far-flung destinations bringing wonderful ingredients to the city across the decades to working with a range of artisanal producers, farmers and cultivators right on the doorstep.
