Liverpool’s Christmas convoy tractor run for Alder Hey Children's Charity

Sunday 19th December will see a convoy of around 100 tractors light up the city forming a magical Christmas convoy, making their way around Liverpool’s streets with one of their destinations being Alder Hey Children’s Charity.

Local farmer and organiser of the event Olly Harrison started the convoy last Christmas after seeing this done over on the Isle of Man where farmers where decorating their tractors and taking to the streets to provide a spectacle for people to see so started to organise one here in the city.

Last years spectacular raised over £43,000 which was to help support Alder Hey. The tractor convoy visited Alder Hey Children’s Hospital to bring a smile on the children’s faces for Christmas.

There will also be even more blue lights lighting up the streets as Merseyside Police will be supporting the convoy and providing Police motorbikes for the parade, all of the officers will be coming in on their day off to help support the event.

The target last year was to raise £5,000 from the event to help raises funds towards the pioneering work of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The funds help ensure the 330,000 children treated each year have access to the best facilities and equipment. The event is also encouraging food donations to Fans Supporting Foodbanks.

The convoy will set off from Water Lane at 6.15pm to begin the 30 mile street party.

You can help support Olly Harrison the farmer who is organising the spectacular charity event by donating if you can at his justgiving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/festivefarmers/
