The Lake House is gearing up for its first Christmas in Waterloo this December as it launches its jammed packed festive calendar.
Kicking off activities from November 25, the venue, which sits alongside the leisure facilities at Sefton Council’s Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre, will host a series of events including Christmas parties, a festive fundraiser, as well as some very special visits from the big man himself as Santa officially comes to town on the 4th, 23rd and 24th of December.
The team will then finish 2022 in style with a New Year’s Eve extravaganza in their in-house restaurant The Lake Kitchen, led by head chef Matt Cox, which will see guests enjoy a suitably stunning five course menu before toasting the new year in style on the iconic waterfront.
Event Sales Manager Natalie Nixon said:
“We wanted to make our first Christmas one that our guests will truly never forget, and we’re so excited by the line-up of events that we have planned throughout the last six weeks of the year. There really is something for everyone and it’s important to reinforce the message that we’re a friendly ‘festive’ hub where locals and non-locals alike can come with friends, colleagues and family to celebrate and spent time together.
“Support and community are at our core – they are at the heart of everything we do, and Christmas is just one of those times where support and being with the ones we care about is appreciated the most.”
The first date in the Christmas diary is November 25, when the venue will welcome a community gathering, where attendees are being encouraged to bring a donation with them for a local food bank.
Natalie added:
“With such a brilliant local community on our doorstep, The Lake House strives to ensure that we cater for as many people as possible. In a very short space of time, we have become a destination – not just to visit, but to make memories at.
“We’ll not only be hosting a family friendly Santa meet up, which will include breakfast and a disco with dancing elves, but there will also be something for the adults, with festive party evenings; complete with a DJ and a three-course meal.”
Following lots of demand, the team will open on Christmas Day, greeting guests with canapés and drink on arrival, before a three-course traditional dinner. To round off the festive season, the New Year’s Eve party will be a fun celebration with a five-course tasting menu, a DJ, a glass of champagne at midnight and sparklers on the deck overlooking the lake.
It’s been a successful start to The Lake House’s launch, which opened its doors back in August, with more than 10,000 people dining at the venue per month. It’s also unveiled 14 refurbished rooms as part of its accommodation offering and four conference and event spaces, which will be transformed into a winter wonderland as part of their Christmas calendar.

“This festive season will be such a fantastic end to what has been such a great few months for us all here. The response we have received has been so positive and we are looking forward to celebrating the most wonderful time of the year with all of our guests.”
