The Beatles Story at the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool has begun a reenactment of the well-known “John & Yoko Bed In” in support of the children’s charity KIND. Visitors are invited to donate pyjamas to help local children in need this Christmas.
A local charity called KIND Liverpool works to assist underprivileged kids and families in Liverpool and Merseyside. In order to provide children of all ages with warm and cosy pyjamas during the holiday season, the “Bed In and Be Kind This Christmas” campaign seeks to gather new pyjamas donations. These will be added to Christmas hampers along with gifts and food donations.
From Saturday, December 9 to Monday, December 11, The Beatles Story staff will alternately take part in a 24-hour reenactment of John & Yoko’s iconic Bed In at The Royal Albert Dock’s Fab4 Café. Guests are encouraged to snap selfies with the bed (provided kindly by Holiday Inn Express Liverpool) and donate brand-new pyjamas in all sizes, ranging from newborn to 16 years old, by December 18.
The Beatles Story’s General Manager, Mary Chadwick said:
“Every pair of pyjamas that we receive will make a difference in supporting disadvantaged children in our community.”
We are delighted to support KIND this year and with the help of donations from our visitors we can make this Christmas a happy one for disadvantaged families across Liverpool City Region.”
KIND Liverpool is accepting donations of toys and food for Christmas hampers distributed among struggling children and families in the community.
