Scouse legends Space will headline the huge One Community Festival in Victoria Road on Saturday 13th July, following a week of local events as part of New Brighton Community Arts Festival.
Starting on Monday 8th July, there will be a programme of music, art, theatre and comedy prior to the big street party on the Saturday!
The big One Community Street Party on Saturday 13th July will see Victoria Road closed off and 90s legends Space perform alongside some top local bands ands such as Belaruse, Headfeeder and Ambedo Blue. They will grace the big stage alongside a host of diverse theatre and dance acts, whilst, there’ll be live street art taking place, street food, stalls, a kids zone and more!
This event follows an exciting programme of events at local venues. On the evening of Monday 8th July, Sing Wirral will see a host community choirs and singing groups come together to perform at The Floral Pavilion. Get ready for a night of musical magic as community and school choirs from all corners of the Wirral unite for a spectacular celebration of song!
Meanwhile, on Tuesday 9th July there will be immersive theatre from Theatre Porto at The Floral Pavilion as the magic of New Brighton is celebrated on stage by young people. The magical theatrical show from children will feature a dramatic final performance will be a dream-like story that incorporates recorded text, live dialogue, projection and music.
On Wednesday 10th July, two top comedians are coming to Oakland on Victoria Road as legends Sam Avery and Phil Chapman are set to have the venue in stitches! Two hilarious headliners who have supported Paul Smith, alongside some up and coming secondary school talent, it’s set to be a fantastic event!
On Thursday 11th July, again at Oakland, join acclaimed local author and wordsmith Ashleigh Nugent for an unforgettable evening of spoken word! Ashleigh will dazzle and amaze with his profound storytelling alongside inspiring performances from local teenagers as they showcase their writing skills.
On Friday 12th July, Oakland will host Friday Night Live— a big live music event with performances from talented young musicians throughout the night alongside top local artists and bands. Celebrating some of the best local talent around, it’s set to be an incredible celebration of music at the Victoria Road venue!
New Brighton Community Arts Festival is being organised by local group of schools, Holy Family Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, in partnership with C Change, Wirral Council, Equilibrium North West and Rockpoint Leisure. Its aim is to showcase the talents of young people alongside top local artists and performers, whilst acting as a platform for local venues and independents.
