Shiverpool are thrilled to announce some good news as the seasons begin to change!
The team will be bringing their new street theatre show The Secret Garden Cemetery Shivers Tour of Georgian Liverpool and St James’ Necropolis to the city, which will be available to book for the public from December.
The tours are an exciting blend of physical-storytelling including History, Heritage-Tales and Folklore taking in Liverpool’s most impressive and glorious city surroundings delivered by a group of award-winning guides.
Liverpool’s famous ghost and history tours have also announced they will be giving away FREE Secret Garden tours with help from the National Lottery Community Fund. The free tours will be given to Liverpool based community groups and schools who will benefit from their outdoor arts and street theatre experiences the most.
Shiverpool will be working with professional and experienced artists to deliver the programme providing excellent quality and a safe and supportive environment for all to enjoy at their own pace, including members of family, support groups or carers.
The Shiverpool team said:
“We understand things are tough right now and our outdoor artistic antics are a perfect way to get out, come together in the great outdoors into the city’s heritage and historical hot (or cold) spots- explore the city, enjoy theatre and learn about Liverpool’s astonishing story whilst being enthralled and entertained by our famous Shiverpool Guides with ghostly tales and stunning surroundings.”

The tour highlights include ghostly tales and gruesome fables, starting from outside Liverpool’s most famously haunted hostelry The Philharmonic Pub, surrounded by the former hospitals, asylums, workhouses and children’s homes once served by the Necropolis.
You can view the surrounding neighbourhood that envelops the Dormitory of the Dead, St James’ Cemetery. The Cemetery Shivers Tour explores and dissects the grim narrative of the darker Experience the otherworldly soul of St. James’ Cemetery Gardens after dark, where nearly 58,000 of Liverpool’s great and good are entombed.
The Cemetery Shivers Tour explores and dissects the grim narrative of the darker side to Liverpool’s past, and stitches together the beginning middle and end, where death completes us all.
Shiverpool will transport you on a spine-tingling Gothic odyssey through the layers of time and place where spooky spirits dance and storytellers dream & weave their tales in the pale moonlight, a journey you are unlikely to forget.
How it works: Each activity will be delivered exclusively to your group, we would suggest no more than 30 participants.
Length of Activity: Full experience: 1 hour and a half (90 mins) – approx. 0.9 mile walk (18 min stroll if you walked non stop)
