Scooch and FunnyBoyz to host Eurovision Afterparty

A Eurovision afterparty has been announced, with 2007 entrants Scooch performing alongside RuPaul Drag Race Sweden’s Antonina Nutshell and the hilarious drag queens, Funnyboyz!

On Thursday 11th May, from 10pm, The Baltic Triangle’s Blundell Street party venue will see Scooch come out of retirement for a very special Eurovision party.

On the night, Eurovision revellers can expect lots of dancing to the camp classics from the decades of Eurovision. There’ll be a mash-up of the best cheesy pop music from the Drag Queen DJs, fun and games from the FunnyBoyz cast and a special performance for Scooch — hosted by the fabulous Antonina Nutshell of RuPaul Drag Race Sweden.

Scooch shot to fame in 1999 when they won a contest on BBC One’s Saturday morning show Live & Kicking, subsequently reaching No.5 in the UK charts with their hit single More Than I Needed To Know. They went on to perform in the Finals of the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest with their raunchy hit Flying The Flag and now return after 16 years.

Scooch said:

“It’s super exciting and what better opportunity to get the band back together? ‘Flying the Flag’ is the Eurovision equivalent of having a hit Christmas song for us — every year we get to talk about the song and our experience in the competition! Back in 2007 the UK song was chosen by the public and 16 years on it blows us away that people still hold the song in the heart.”

“We’ve performed many times in Liverpool over the years and have always had the warmest of welcomes! It’s such a lively, vibrant and passionate city synonymous with musical greatness. It’s amazing to think for the first time in 25 years we are hosting the world’s biggest music event in the city which is the undisputed capital of Pop music!”

The afterparty event at Blundell Street is being co-hosted by FunnyBoyz, who have recently been voted 7th best event in the UK and the best in Liverpool in a recent poll from The Bottle Club — based on their Google rating score, Instagram, LGBTQ+ friendly and location.

FunnyBoyz was formed in 2020 and has developed a reputation as one of the best events brands in the UK — with a hilarious cast, Benidorm Bingo nights, RuPaul nights, tribute nights, top DJs, games and more. FunnyBoyz performs in 5 cities throughout the UK, but is based in Liverpool and has a residency at Blundell Street.

FunnyBoyz’ Linda Gold said:

“We’re honoured to be hosting the afterparty for the Semi Finals on Thursday 11th April with Scooch and Antonina Nutshell! Eurovision is such an iconic event and one of the biggest things to come to the city in years, so it would be rude not for FunnyBoyz to get involved! We can’t wait for this event and it will be even more wild than usual!”

The Eurovision afterparty on Thursday 11th May is taking place at The Baltic Triangle’s Blundell Street party venue from 10pm, featuring 2007 entrants Scooch performing alongside RuPaul Drag Race Sweden’s Antonina Nutshell and the hilarious drag queens, Funnyboyz. Tickets start at £15 plus booking fee.

BOOK NOW – Tickets from only £15.00
