Royal Liver Building 360 Tower Tour and Experience, RLB360, is celebrating after winning a huge award.

One of Liverpool’s tourist hotspots was named one of the silver winners at the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2022 and judges praised the “outstanding staff” at the attraction. The ceremony featured finalists from across 15 categories, handpicked by tourism industry experts from more than 300 entries.

The annual awards, which have been “celebrating the very best of England” for more than 30 years, honour innovation, quality, and best practise across the sector, with 15 categories honouring businesses that raise the bar of England’s tourism offer.

After a rigorous judging process, the winners of the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2022 were announced. The Royal Liver Building 360 experience won silver in the ‘Small Visitor Attraction of the Year’ category, beating Liverpool’s British Music Experience which took bronze – with both narrowly pipped by Nothe Fort in Dorset.

RLB360, situated on Liverpool waterfront, is a world-class attraction which cost more than £1million to install and allows people to explore the iconic building, marvel at the history and architecture on display and go behind-the-scenes to learn about the famous Royal Liver Building clocks.

Visitors can also make their way up to the 15th floor, just like Batman did in the recent blockbuster Hollywood movie, while getting up close and personal with the enormous Liver Birds, affectionately named Bella and Bertie, and overlooking the city after viewing a thrilling digital projection show.

Operations manager at RLB360 Chris Devaney said:

“We have welcomed more than 50,000 people to our attraction since opening in 2019, which is some feat considering the closures and challenges we faced during the pandemic.

“We’re still working our way out of it but winning awards like this and being recognised on a national stage will only help and it is true testament to the hard work our staff have put in.

“We have won the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year at the Liverpool Tourism Awards in both years we have been able to enter so far and we don’t plan to ever let our standards slip!”
