Due to coronavirus challenges a series of events in the city have now been cancelled, including the upcoming Liverpool Spring 10K.
Papercup Project, a Liverpool charity which helps those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by providing outreach services, including food, drink, clothing and advice, are set to bring the event back to life with a virtual 10K.
Team members from the Papercup Project who were planning to take part in the event have decided to still go ahead with the run, sticking to the original race date & time, but will be done separately to adhere to current social distancing guidelines.
The idea has grown massively, what started out as a few volunteers running for a bit of fun has spread to their wider circle of friends and family, continuing to grow by the days.
People currently involved are choosing to run 10K and donate £10.00 once completed, all in aid to help those in need at this current time.
Now the team at Papercup Project want to give you the chance to get involved!
How will it work?
The virtual event will take place on Sunday 3rd May from 10.00am.
You can run, walk, cycle 10K, any route you wish while adhering to social distancing!
Screenshot your route/time when done and post to your Instagram story tagging in @papercupprojectpl
Take a selfie and tag the team in and they will post as many as they can.
Once completed, click the link www.justgiving.com/papercupproject to donate £10.00 (Papercup Project are conscious this is a hard time for many, all donations no matter how big or small are all welcome)
If you cannot donate at this time, get involved anyway and enjoy the sunshine!
