The NHS Big Tea is coming on the 5th July, the NHS’s birthday. Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is urging people in to join the nation’s biggest tea break during July and help raise money for the incredible people in our NHS who’ve done so much to help everyone get through the pandemic.
It’s a national celebration of the amazing NHS staff – ordinary, yet extraordinary people who continue to go above and beyond for us and our loved ones.
Following a year like no other, Liverpool Hospitals Charity would like to encourage as many people as possible to get involved in a national outpouring of love and thanks for our NHS staff and volunteers on its birthday, by hosting or taking part in your very own “Big Tea”.
Your event could be anything from a gathering of friends and family in the garden, a cake sale in your workplace or a virtual celebration. There will be something for everyone! By taking part in the nation’s biggest tea break you will be supporting your local NHS staff in helping to provide the best possible care for our patients.
You can get involved and register for your very own NHS Big Tea celebration. Everyone that registers will receive their very own “Big Tea” fundraising pack to support you with your fundraising.
Lauren Davies, Head of Fundraising for Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said:
“Our staff have worked so hard during these challenging times this is a brilliant way of saying thank you and showing your support. We already have some great local support from well-known faces who are sharing their messages of thanks. It would be great for the people of Liverpool to brew up and do the same.”
Ellie Orton, CEO of NHS Charities Together, which is behind the NHS Big Tea, said:
“Many of us have a lot to be grateful to NHS staff and volunteers for following the year we have had. They have been at the forefront of the response to one of the biggest challenges our country has ever faced. NHS Big Tea is chance to show our support for them by joining a national outpouring of thanks this July. For many, this will be an outpouring of joy, celebrating the vaccine and all that it is allowing us to do again.
“For others, it will be an outpouring of thanks, for everything that our NHS champions have done for us. For some, sadly, it will be a moment of reflection for the loss of loved ones. Whatever the emotion, please join the nation’s biggest tea break to raise money for the incredible people in our NHS.”
Thanks to the support and generosity of the public over the last year, Liverpool Hospitals Charity has been able to be there for patients and staff, to ensure the continuation of vital life-saving work through the provision of health and wellbeing initiatives, including an expansion of the Trust Psychology service to meet demand within that area, enhanced environments and care items for patients during a time where visiting was restricted, and facilities for staff rest areas.
Thousands are expected to host events and NHS Charities Together has produced a pack to help those events go with a swing. Take part and get your pack here.
