With the latest ONS figures revealing that unemployment is at a four-year high Metquarter in Liverpool is thrilled to announce the new food hall, GPO, will create over 130 jobs in the city across the build and post-opening.
Hospitality has been one of the hardest hit industries in terms of closures with a fifth of hospitality sector jobs lost in 2020 as a result of the pandemic. GPO will fill some of the job losses providing a huge boost for the local area.
The food hall will focus on a wide variety of cuisines under one roof, championing independent regional operators above all else, providing a vital platform for smaller businesses.
Matt Bigland, Founder and Director at The Milestone Group said:

“In an industry where job creation is so desperately needed, we’re delighted to welcome the GPO food hall to Metquarter. The 132 jobs created by the opening and across the build will be a huge boost for the local area especially as the team are so focused on championing the best independent operators in the city. We’re excited to see the plans come to life over the coming weeks and look forward to welcoming visitors this spring.”
