The Whitechapel Centre Liverpool Sleepout is back this September.
The homeless charity is hosting another successful fundraising event to raise awareness and vital funds because no one should have to spend the night on the streets of Liverpool.
Since it began in 2014, thousands of people have participated in the Liverpool Sleepout, sleeping outside and raising vital funds to end homelessness in the city.
The sleepout will take place on Friday, 29th September at St James in the City churchyard, with hundreds of people swapping their beds for sleeping bags and cardboard boxes to raise funds to support the charity’s work to end homelessness across Liverpool. It not only provides an opportunity to raise vital funds for the charity’s work, but it also conveys an important message, giving those involved insight into the vulnerability that some may face while sleeping on the streets.
Toni-Marie, Fundraiser at The Whitechapel Centre said:
“The Liverpool Sleepout is a great opportunity and a unique experience which really helps us on our journey to end homelessness for people across Liverpool. In the last few years, we have been overwhelmed by the support from individuals, businesses and community groups because they also believe that homelessness should not be happening in today’s world. This year is set to be just as successful with people already signing-up to brace an Autumn night outside.”
The Whitechapel Centre’s outreach teams cover the city region and are on the streets from early morning to late at night, assisting people sleeping rough and responding to public calls to the Always Help Available 24-hour phone line: 0300 123 2041.
Could you sleep outside all night with just a sleeping bag and cardboard shelter to protect yourself and raise money to help end homelessness? Take part and your support really can change lives.
