Liverpool John Lennon Airport has once again been recognised as one of the top-performing airports in the UK, following the results of Which?’s annual airport survey.
For the fourth year running, the airport has been awarded the title of Which? Recommended Provider. While Exeter Airport narrowly claimed the top spot, Liverpool secured second place overall – making it the highest-rated major airport in the country.
The survey, carried out earlier this year, gathered feedback from almost 6,000 passengers, a mix of Which? members and the general public, based on their experiences over the past 12 months. Respondents were asked to score airports across ten areas, including customer service, security queues, baggage waiting times, seating availability, and the choice of shops and restaurants.
Over the past year, Liverpool John Lennon Airport has invested in new-generation security screening equipment and upgraded food and drink options within its Departure Lounge. These improvements helped the airport achieve a customer satisfaction score of 78% in the survey.
Travellers highlighted the airport’s efficient processes and friendly staff, awarding Liverpool five-star ratings for security, bag drop, and check-in. One passenger described the security experience as “consistently quick and hassle-free,” while another summed it up as “efficient, clean, easy to navigate, good facilities.”
Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s CEO John Irving commented:
“After a period involving a host of developments and improvements, it’s a tremendous achievement to once again be acknowledged by the travelling public as one of the best airports in the UK and to be a Which? Recommended Provider for the fourth consecutive year.
We’ve just had our busiest summer ever with passengers enjoying our renowned passenger experience and today’s news is something that everyone who works here is really proud of and is a reflection of all the hard work put in by our staff alongside our dedicated third-party operators.”
