SERIES TWO – EDITION TWENTY
In series two – edition twenty of our Faces of Liverpool series we caught up with Rain Castillo, aged 22 from Huyton; an Accountant’s PA, Artist and Part-Time Dance Teacher.
What do you love about Liverpool?
What I Love About Liverpool, is the diversity of the city. There’s no doubt that Liverpool has a strong connection to music. The first thing that many people will think of when they hear the name of the city is the Beatles, possibly the most famous band in the world.
There is so much history and culture. Everywhere you go, Liverpool is a city that puts on a show. Liverpool also has a fantastic music scene today, with many fantastic venues for live music. From music events, to seeing Victorian buildings to striking modern architecture and even some of the city’s amazing street art. And obviously being home to the Greatest football team!!!
Name one main thing about living in Liverpool that makes you proud?
The people. You can spot and hear a scouser from a mile away. The Scouse accent is distinctly recognisable. The funniest and friendliest people you’ll ever meet is something Liverpool is famous for. We’ve got an accent and vocabulary all of our own!
If you could describe Liverpool in 3 words what would they be?
Scouse and Proud.
Name one place in Liverpool that holds a special place in your heart?
The parks. Massive open green spaces, lakes, woods, Victorian palm houses, our parks have it all. When nothing else is there for me, nature is and it is my favourite get away to have a good breathe of fresh air and to be at one with nature.
Is there anything on your ‘Bucket List’ to do in Liverpool that your still yet to achieve?
To perform at my own show in front of my people, my hometown Liverpool.
Do you have any tales of Liverpool or claim to fame while in the city?
Wait till next year, 2022 is my year!
