Everton Charity Nets £5K On Saturday With CAZOO ‘GOALS FOR GOOD'

Cazoo’s new ‘Goals for Good’ charitable initiative proved a winner for Everton in the Community at the weekend when Everton bagged a dominant 5-2 win against West Bromwich Albion and netted a further £5,000 donation from Cazoo for the Club’s official charity.

Dominic Calvert Lewin added a hattrick to his tally bringing the total he has scored for the Club’s charity to £4,000 with new signing James Rodriguez and Michael Keane getting off the mark and netting a further £1,000 each for the charity and bringing the running total to £6,000 after just two Premier League games.

Last week Cazoo, Everton’s new shirt sponsor, launched its new ‘Goals for Good’ initiative whereevery goal scored in the Premier League by the Blues this season will result in £1,000 being donated to Everton in the Community up to a maximum of £50,000.

Cazoo, the UK’s leading online car retailer, which makes buying a car as easy as buying any other product online, was announced as the Club’s new main partner at the end of the 2019/20 season and immediately started speaking to Everton in the Community after hearing about its impact and work across Liverpool City Region and has now become an official partner of the Club’s charitable arm.

Established in 1988, Everton in the Community delivers more than 40 programmes a year, specifically designed and developed to tackle social issues which are prevalent across Merseyside such as mental health, employability, dementia, education, disability, poverty and homelessness.

Dominic Calvert Lewin, Everton Football Club Forward said:

“It’s a fantastic gesture and I’ve seen first-hand what it can bring to the community. It carries more weight now that every time I hit the back of the net money is going to be donated to a good cause, even more reason to score more goals. The difference Everton in the Community can make is phenomenal and I think the £1,000 gesture for each goal is fantastic!”

Alex Chesterman OBE, Founder & CEO of Cazoo said:

“We’re looking forward to celebrating many more goals this season and are delighted we can convert these goals into cash for Everton in the Community and help ensure that the local charity can continue to provide life-changing and life-saving support to even more people in need. It’s going to be an exciting season and the more goals scored the happier we will be to support more of the incredible work that the Everton in the Community team are continuously delivering.”
