
One of the biggest events in the sporting calendar is heading back to the Liverpool City Region as The 154th Open Championship returns to Royal Birkdale Golf Club in July 2026.
Golf fans will have the chance to experience eight unforgettable days at the world’s oldest Major, as the game’s top players compete for the iconic Claret Jug on one of the UK’s most celebrated courses.
A legendary venue
Royal Birkdale will host The Open for the 11th time, further cementing its status as one of the most प्रतिष्ठed venues in the sport. Since first welcoming the Championship in 1954, the course has become a firm favourite for players and spectators alike.
Widely regarded as the finest links course in England, the Southport venue has also hosted some of golf’s biggest events, including the Ryder Cup, Walker Cup and Women’s British Open.
