Following seven West End seasons, a record-breaking UK and Ireland tour, and twelve productions across the globe, the smash-hit stage phenomenon 2:22 A Ghost Story is coming to Liverpool, stopping at the iconic Liverpool Empire Theatre.
Written by Danny Robins – creator of the hit BBC podcasts Uncanny and The Battersea Poltergeist – the play arrives fresh from record-breaking runs across five West End theatres, earning rave reviews and a reputation as one of the most talked-about thrillers on stage. Equal parts funny, unsettling and adrenaline-fuelled, 2:22 A Ghost Story keeps audiences guessing right up until the final moments. Ghosts… or coincidence? What do you believe?
The story centres on Jenny, who is convinced her new home is haunted. Her husband Sam, a die-hard sceptic, refuses to entertain the idea. When they host their first dinner party with old friend Lauren and her new partner Ben, an evening of polite conversation quickly spirals into a tense debate about belief, scepticism and the supernatural.
As the night unfolds, strange noises and unexplained events begin to creep in. The atmosphere thickens. Something doesn’t feel right. Determined to get answers, the group agrees to stay awake until the same time every disturbance seems to occur… 2:22am.
What happens next is something you’ll have to see to believe.
A clever, gripping and often laugh-out-loud experience, 2:22 A Ghost Story promises a thrilling night at the theatre – but you might want to leave the lights on when you get home.
