Liverpool’s exquisitely restored Grade II listed venue, The Old Library is set to host upcoming Christmas events this December for all the family to get involved in.
From getting creative, festive poetry and afternoon tea, Lister Steps at The Old Library are welcoming the festive fun in style.
Sunday 5th December, 10.30am – 2pm: Christmas Wreath Making & Festive Afternoon Tea
Christmas Wreath Making
Join Joy from Flowerhaus at our Christmas Wreath making workshop between 10.30am – 12.30pm. What a way to greet all your friends and family into your home with a beautiful Christmas door wreath! No previous experience is necessary as you will be guided throughout and all the base materials will be provided for you on the day, you just need to bring along your own decorations so that your wreath will suit the festive theme of your choice.
Festive Afternoon Tea
Enjoy a festive Afternoon Tea between 12.30pm – 2pm whilst listening to Christmas carols performed by the angelic voices of Holistic Harmonies. Included in the Afternoon Tea will be a selection of festive filled finger sandwiches, pigs in blankets, cranberry topped pork pie, goats cheese & red onion quiche, fruit scones and a selection of sweet treats along with tea, coffee and mulled wine!

Wednesday 8th December, 7pm: Voices of Christmas
Sit back, relax and enjoy a festive evening of poetry, prose and short stories to get you in the Christmas spirit. We’ll be joined by local writers, performers and friends of The Old Library as we imagine Christmas in time gone by and look to the future as the year draws to a close.
Doors and bar (serving snacks, hot drinks and alcoholic beverages) open at 6.30pm and the event begins at 7pm.

Thursday 9th December, 1pm – 3pm: Community floristry workshop: Christmas table displays
Learn how to make a stunning Christmas table centre with candles, with Joy from Flowerhaus. No previous experience is necessary as you will be guided throughout. The basic tools and equipment used in floristry will be discussed to give you a better understanding of what they are used for and there will be a demonstration in stages to allow you to make this beautiful design and take it home. You will bring all your own materials to make an arrangement that is perfect for your Christmas events!
