Budding designers have the chance to create some brand new official merchandise for Africa Oyé

Budding designers have the chance to create some brand new official merchandise for Africa Oyé ahead of their 30th Anniversary Festival.

Following a two-year hiatus brought on by the pandemic, the festival returns to Sefton Park on June 18th and 19th 2022.

Beginning in 1992 as a series of gigs in the city centre, Africa Oyé – a registered charity – has evolved into one of Liverpool’s most beloved annual events, attracting artists and attendees from across the globe.

Oyé previously held a design competition for a limited edition t-shirt to be sold at their 25th Anniversary Festival back in 2017, which was won by local designer Zoe Harrison.

This year, artists, illustrators and designers are invited to submit their ideas for both a limited edition t-shirt and a 30th anniversary poster. The winning designs will be printed and sold as official merchandise at the event in Sefton Park this June with proceeds all going towards keeping the festival FREE for all for years to come.

The judging panel, made up of Oyé trustees and team members, will be accepting entries until midnight on Sunday 1st May, 2022.

The criteria for entries is as follows:

T-SHIRT DESIGN

– Must include an official Africa Oyé logo OR ‘Africa Oye’ text – download your choice of logos here.

– Design must fit within a maximum A3 print space (297mm x 420mm)

– Please send a LO-RES version of your design (and a link to the hi-res version to download) with your NAME, AGE, ADDRESS, EMAIL and how you wish to be credited to ally@africaoye.com

POSTER DESIGN

– Must include an official Africa Oyé logo OR ‘Africa Oye’ text – download your choice of logos here.

– Design must fit within a maximum A3 print space.

– Please send a LO-RES version of your design (and a link to the hi-res version to download) with your NAME, AGE, ADDRESS, EMAIL and how you wish to be credited to – ally@africaoye.com

Deadline: Midnight on Sunday 1st May, 2022.

Please note that entries may be used for promotional purposes (with credit of course) and only the winning designs will be printed.
