Bowring Park & Golf Course to host a festive fun day with Good Market in December

  • December 6, 2022
  • Editor

Bowring Park & Golf Course in collaboration with Good Market will transform into a winter wonderland on December 17, with food, drink, arts & crafts and even a festive market on offer for all of the family to enjoy.

Hosting Liverpool-based The Good Market for a ‘twilight market’, a host of local independents including wreath and bouquet specialists Petal and Press, Candle Collective, Shake, Rattle and Roll (punk kids clothing), Zest Limoncello, Neon Moon Pet Boutique (dog accessories) and many, many more will be bringing their specially curated goods to Bowring Park & Golf Course from 3pm – 8pm on the 17th.

The twilight market will also include live music, circus acts, face painting, festive foraging and wreath making in the parks gardens with the Friends of Bowring Park and even a visit from the big man himself and his elves, with Father Christmas sure to tell everyone whether they’ve made it onto his good list this year!

With Root Catering also putting together a special festive menu in the newly refurbished and opened The Coach House Cafe, Bowring Park & Golf Course and their managing agent Oneday will also be producing a programme of fun for families and children alike on the day, with wreath making and various other arts and craft sessions available.

There’s never been a better opportunity to bring all your friends and family down for a pre-Christmas day out in Knowsley!

Matt Bell, director, Oneday, said:

“Whether it’s supporting local independents while doing some last minute shopping or simply enjoying a festive day out with the family before Christmas, we’ve got you covered at Bowring Park & Golf Course this December, with the 17th in particular set to be an action packed day of festivities.

“It’s a real honour to have the Good Market at our venue and with food, drink, arts, crafts and plenty of fun available for all, we’ll make sure everyone visiting Bowring Park & Golf Course over the next month will leave full with the joys of Christmas.”

Rebekah Frech, managing director, Good Market, said:

“We are really looking forward to bringing Good Market to Bowring Park & Golf Course for the penultimate Saturday before Christmas. Bringing together some of our very best independents, the afternoon and evening will be full of festive cheer, as well as gifts and treats for those looking to pick up some last minute presents.”

Cllr Shelley Powell, Knowsley Council’s cabinet member for communities and neighbourhoods, added:

“All of Knowsley’s parks and green spaces have so much to offer at this time of year and Bowring Park is no exception. This fun day is just one of an exciting programme of events and developments at the park which have followed our investment in the site and partnership with Oneday as Managing Agents of Bowring Park and Golf Course.”

The oldest park in Knowsley and the first municipal golf course in England, Bowring Park & Golf Course’s 18-hole course is open throughout December, along with the new Coach House cafe and bar and the new children’s playground open all day every day – again showcasing the venue as an inclusive place for everyone.

Located just off junction five of the M62 and less than half a mile from Roby train station, Bowring Park & Golf Course is well connected to Liverpool city centre and the rest of the Knowsley borough, making it the perfect place to enjoy a mulled wine, mince pie or even just a woodland walk.

Bowring Park has benefited from an extensive investment and restoration programme in recent years. The investment included a direct contribution of £1.8m from Knowsley Council, £1.9m from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and a further £75,000 from the Landfill Trust and the Government’s Pocket Parks Fund.

After investing an initial £1.2m into the regeneration of Bowring Park & Golf Course, Oneday is currently putting together an inclusive calendar of events for 2023, with art, culture, and sport at its heart, with this festive fun-day just a taste of what is to come over the next 12 months.
