On September 30th, 2023, Big Help Project is proud to announce its partnership with Pagoda Art to host a vibrant Mid-Autumn/Moon Festival celebration in Liverpool.

This event is dedicated to honouring the Chinese festivity and offering support to those celebrating in Liverpool.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, known as Zhongqiu Jie in Chinese, goes by several names, including Moon Festival and Mooncake Festival. It ranks among the most cherished festivals in China, second only to Chinese New Year. It is also celebrated in various Asian countries, cities, and regions, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. This occasion is a time for gratitude for the harvest and for ushering in the harvest-giving light in the year ahead.

The festivities will take place on the Saturday, running from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Big Help Project extends a warm invitation to anyone interested in celebrating, participating, and learning about the rich cultural traditions associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The event promises a delightful array of offerings, including a diverse selection of food – including traditional Moon Cakes – and beverages. Attendees can also look forward to engaging activities such as a mesmerizing martial arts demonstration, an orchestra performance, and the traditional Hung Gar, as well as a whole host of workshops throughout the day.

This celebration is open to all, and both Big Help Project and Pagoda Art aspire to make it not only an enjoyable, but an educational experience for everyone in attendance.
