A massive charity single launch will take place at Liverpool’s iconic Cavern Club in memory of Busker Pete on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 7pm.
Livin’ La Vida Liverpool, filmed by EMPRA, is the hilarious creation of La Vida Liverpool magazine owner Justin Hopper and the high-energy Latin party band Los Amigos.
The night is being hosted in memory of Busker Pete, who sadly passed away recently, and is in aid of the legendary Mr. Old Hall Street and his work helping the homeless in Liverpool. Pete appeared in the Livin La Vida Liverpool music video just a few months before his death, and the night will serve as a tribute to Pete while also raising funds for the vital work of Mr. Old Hall Street, Pete’s close friend.
There will be a DJ spinning Latin vibes, a premiere screening of the music video, a live set from Los Amigos, talks from everyone involved in the project with special guest speakers, a massive charity raffle, and more on the night. The event will be high-energy and a lot of fun, all while raising money for the homeless before the winter. Tickets are only £10 and can be purchased on the Cavern Club website.
La Vida Liverpool is a positive media outlet founded in 2018 by Justin Hopper with the goal of making the region and the world a better place through positive news. La Vida Liverpool, which now has an online magazine, print magazine, and radio show, has helped countless people in the region and raised tens of thousands of pounds for charitable causes like this.
Owner Justin Hopper said:
“Liverpool is full of legendary characters, such as Busker Pete and Mr. Old Hall Street. This hilarious single premiere will be a really fun night but it also aims to honour Pete, whilst raising funds for and celebrating the great work of Mr. Old Hall Street — who supplied Pete with his colourful outfits. Pete was once homeless, so to raise money for the homeless in his name is very special.”
He continued:
“Originally, the song was just a fun collaboration between La Vida Liverpool and Los Amigos, who are the best Latin party band around. They really are amazing and the song is incredible! Busker Pete starred in the music video but he sadly passed a couple of months after filming — so that’s when we thought about doing something in his memory for the homeless.”
The Cavern Club’s generous support ensures that the event will be one of the most entertaining of the year, with Los Amigos bringing all the Latin party energy to the night. The raffle will also feature some incredible prizes, as the night aims to raise thousands for the city’s ever-growing homelessness problem.
Brian Phillips, aka Mr. Old Hall Street, said:
“On behalf of all my homeless brothers and sisters, I’d like to thank everyone for putting this night together. As everyone knows, I was once homeless but now I dedicate my life to helping the homeless of our city. Unfortunately, the situation is getting worse and there are more deaths happening. It will be even worse this winter so this fundraiser is coming at the right time.”
Join La Vida Liverpool, Los Amigos, Mr. Old Hall Street, and The Cavern Club for an unforgettable Latino fiesta in honour of the homeless and Busker Pete! The event will take place on Tuesday, November 21st, at 7pm, with tickets costing £10 and all proceeds benefiting the homeless.
