In order to raise crucial funds for St Joseph’s Hospice, volunteers and supporters will be out in January gathering real Christmas trees from all over North Liverpool and Sefton.

Waterloo, Crosby, Thornton, Hightown, Formby, Maghull, Aintree, Bootle, Litherland, and Netherton businesses and residents can make online reservations for their Christmas tree collection on the website or by calling 0151 932 6044.

St. Joseph’s Hospice will collect and recycle your Christmas trees

This year’s charity Christmas tree collection will take place on 13th and 14th January for a suggested minimum donation of £10. You can also take Christmas trees to the hospice, located on Ince Road in Thornton (L23 4UE), over the same weekend and make a suggested minimum donation of just £5.

Because the trees are chipped and used on the hospice grounds, the annual Christmas tree collection benefits the hospice and is the greenest way to recycle your tree.

Maxine Armstrong, head of fundraising and lottery at St. Joseph’s Hospice, said:

“We will be collecting trees from a large area so we are appealing to anyone with their own van who would like to volunteer for a few hours over the weekend 13th and 14th January. We will provide hot drinks and bacon rolls to keep you going. It’s always a fun weekend and it’s a great way to kick off the new year as you will be helping to raise money for local hospice care.”

By visiting the website, you can now book Christmas tree collections and make a donation.

If you would like to volunteer to assist with the tree collection in January, especially if you have a van, please contact events@stjhospice.org.uk or give us a call at 0151 932 6044 / 6046.

Note that only the postcode areas L9, L10, L20, L21, L22, L23, L30, L31, L37, and L38 are eligible for collections. Registrations end on Monday, January 8th, or earlier if your postcode area is full.
