The Anfield Origins Tour, which is available throughout the year, including this half-term, allows Liverpool FC fans to learn all about Anfield’s hidden history for free.

The free, self-guided Anfield Origins Tour takes you on a historical tour of Anfield Stadium’s exterior. Visitors will be transported from the 19th century to the present day using QR codes and an app, exploring the Reds’ remarkable past and discovering fascinating stories about the club at each stop.

Visitors will be able to walk in the footsteps of the Reds’ founding father, John Houlding, and see the location of the first-ever dressing room. They’ll discover the oldest part of Anfield, learn about the fascinating history of Stanley Park, and learn more about some of the club’s iconic figures. Along the way, there is also the opportunity to stop for some fantastic photo opportunities.

Tom Cassidy, Director of Tourism at Liverpool FC, said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Liverpool FC fans to experience the magical history of Anfield for free.

“We wanted to make sure that everybody can come and enjoy learning about the hidden history of LFC, regardless of financial situation. So, the decision was made to make the tour completely free, to keep it accessible to all.”

It is not necessary to book The Anfield Origins Tour. It is available at any time and begins outside the Anfield Museum reception area, where participants scan a QR code to download an app onto their phones.
