Liverpool Philharmonic welcomes back live music by offering £1 Tickets for one day only

For one day only, Liverpool Philharmonic will be welcoming live music back by offering 1000 tickets over 10 performances for just £1 per ticket!

On Sunday 10 October between 10am- 2pm you can head on down to Liverpool Philharmonic Hall Box Office and get tickets for the fantastic events listed below. This offer is only available in person (not online or by phone).

There are only 100 tickets available for each concert, and will be sold on a first come, first served basis, so make sure to get here early to avoid disappointment.

Tickets are limited to 4 per person per event. This offer is subject to availability, and does not apply to previously purchased tickets. Seating location is at the discretion of the box office. We encourage payment by card.

Sunday 24 October 2.30pm

Northern Lights

Does Sibelius’s Fifth Symphony have the greatest finale of all time? We’ll let you decide that! Andrew Manze conducts this epic symphony, and Nielsen’s Flute Concerto, performed by the Orchestra’s own Cormac Henry.

Friday 29 October 7.30pm

Catrin Finch and Seckou Keita with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra

Two great harpists, two great traditions; both united by a passion to communicate. Catrin Finch and Seckou Ketia are joined by the Orchestra in this special one-off concert.

Thursday 4 November 7.30pm

Schubert’s Final Symphony

Charismatic conductor Kevin John Edusei makes his Liverpool debut in spectacular fashion with Schubert’s mighty final Symphony, and Korngold’s gorgeous Violin Concerto, starring the amazing Simone Lamsma.

Saturday 6 November 7.30pm

Songs by Sondheim

With a career that ranges from A Little Night Music and Company, to Sweeney Todd and Into the Woods, Stephen Sondheim is Broadway royalty. Join our all-star cast for this show-stopping tribute to the undisputed King of the musicals.

Nu Civilisation Orchestra presents

Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On

Nu Civilisation Orchestra leads a musical celebration of 50 years of What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye. Conducted by Peter Edwards, the 24-piece orchestra will make a perfectly timed creative exploration and celebration of Gaye’s seminal masterpiece, five decades after its release.

Symphonie Fantastique

A severed head, a Witches’ Sabbath and unrequited love … Berlioz didn’t call it the Symphonie Fantastique for nothing! And with the Orchestra’s unique set of full-size church bells, it’ll sound pretty fantastic tonight too. 

Thursday 2 December 7.30pm

Stillness and Light

Dvořák saw a train entering a station and heard the melody that would grow into his Seventh Symphony. With guest conductor Joshua Weilerstein, and the incredible Inon Barnatan in Mozart’s stormiest piano concerto, this should be one to remember.

Film Screening

It’s A Wonderful Life (cert U)

One of the most popular and enduring of all Christmas traditions, Capra’s perennial festive favourite, stars James Stewart as a desperate man whose previously happy life falls apart around him on Christmas Eve.

Pipe Dreams

Dynamic young Polish conductor Marta Gardolińska takes to the podium for Shostakovich’s Ninth Symphony, and is joined by Ian Tracey for Poulenc’s glittering Organ Concerto.

Thursday 10 February 7.30pm

Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun

Prokofiev’s Second Violin Concerto will sing and dance in the Spanish sun, with the marvellous Aylen Pritchin, and then Russian dynamo, conductor Maxim Emelyanychev unleashes Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony.
