Exhibition Centre Liverpool confirm events to go ahead as planned

Exhibition Centre Liverpool confirm events to go ahead as planned

Exhibition Centre Liverpool has confirmed that its events will go ahead as planned following the latest government announcement about a delay to the easing of restrictions.

The Gin to my Tonic Show will take place this Friday and Saturday June 25 – 26 and The Outdoor Trade Show is set to welcome visitors from June 29 until July 1.  Both will be socially distanced events taking place in the waterfront venue.

Bodybuilding event Fit X Strom Classic will go ahead as planned on July 4 in The Auditorium at M&S Bank Arena, also part of the event campus.

Stage four of the government roadmap, initially due to be implemented on June 21, would have allowed a return to large indoor events.  Under current guidelines some larger performances and events in indoor venues with an event capacity of 1,000 people or half-full (whichever is a lower number) can take place.

Paul Hudson-Jones, co-founder of The Gin to My Tonic Show, said:

“While it is disappointing that we could not move into stage four of the roadmap following the latest government announcement, we had always designed The Gin To My Tonic Show Liverpool with stage three restrictions in mind.

“Having run multiple live events since May, we feel confident about delivering a safe yet fun event that our visitors can enjoy. All the necessary measures will be in place including social distancing, PPE, track and trace, hand sanitiser stations and more, and we look forward to welcoming everybody to what promises to be a great event.”

It is hoped that full capacity events will go ahead, subject to further government announcements, from next month including Fit Xpo, Liverpool Indoor Funfair and Can You Dance?

Looking further ahead, public exhibitions include The Curve Fashion Festival, The North West Wedding Show and Liverpool Comic Con.  Trade shows include The Foot and Ankle Show.

Adrian Evans, assistant director of conference and exhibition sales, said:

“We are anticipating a return to full capacity events as soon as we are given the go ahead by the government as part of the easing of restrictions.

“In the meantime, we have continued to work with event organisers and we are pleased to still be able to host The Gin to My Tonic Show, The Outdoor Trade Show and Fit X Strom with the necessary measures in place.

“We have no doubt that visitors will have a great time at the shows and we look forward to opening our doors to full capacity events as soon as we are able to.”

Covid secure measures across the campus have been introduced in line with the government approved ‘All Secure Standard’ and as part of a series of accreditations received by the venue including VisitEngland’s ‘We’re Good to Go’ industry standard for tourism and hospitality.

Measures that will be in place for all socially distanced events include designated entrances; track and trace QR codes, socially distanced queuing, bathrooms and seating; one-way systems; hand sanitisers and anti-viral electrostatic spraying machines to enhance hygiene standards.
