Premier League: Everton vs Aston Villa; Is European football still on?

The last few games of this season that has dragged on for us all.

No fans, ridiculous VAR decisions and then the Super League farce being the cherry on top.

However it is not doom and gloom for the blue side of the city anymore.

They are back in with a chance for Champions League, it’ll be tough but they have brought  themselves back in the conversation.

Even if it’s not Champions League the Europa League will still be welcomed.

So the game against Aston Villa is not a nothing game but the positive thing for Evertonians is the fact it could be for Dean Smith’s side.

With The Claret and Blue’s comfortably in mid table their season looks all but over.

It is up for Everton to take advantage of that as if they do beat Villa they’ll go above their arch rivals Liverpool.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have had the chance to do that several times this season and have not grasped the opportunity.

Ancelotti as always was feeling positive as the Italian said: “We have six games to play and we have to try and do our best, and see which position we are at the end of the season.

“We are in a good momentum, and so this is a good sign. I think the victory against Arsenal gave us more motivation.”

It was a scruffy but professional win against Arsenal and as long as Everton get the three points on Saturday night supporters will not care if it is again a scruffy game.

It is also positive injury news for a change for Everton as Ancelotti confirmed that everyone is ok other than Gbamin and Doucoure which should mean that Michael Keane should be back.

The hope is that European football will be back at Goodison Park next season, anything but that Europa conference league though.
