What Josua Hattingh has accomplished so far in his young years through art is immense, from achieving a Grade 9 GCSE in the subject, to him designing and launching a website in November 2020, Josua’s creativity shines through.
Attending Winstanley College, Josua has enjoyed art from a young age, developing artistic skills throughout school. Sharing his passion of sketching iconic buildings from around Liverpool, Josua started to share his art via his Instagram page at the beginning of the COVID lockdown back in March 2020.
Capturing drawings of Liverpool’s waterfront including the Royal Albert Dock, Liver building and Museum of Liverpool, Josua’s aim is to grow a portfolio with an end goal of selling prints.
The drawings in pen and ink capture new perspectives of iconic city landscapes from not only Liverpool but also hotspots from across the world, with the inspiration of the architectural detail from both modern and historic buildings.
Latest projects include Anfield Stadium and a commission on the New York skyline.
Josua says “I enjoy sketching the city buzz on location and also like to take on larger refined pieces.”
