Liverpool shopping centre Metquarter has today announced the arrival of a brand new food hall set to open to the public in late Spring.
Located on the Victoria Street entrance of the centre adjoining Everyman, the opening is a huge boost for the local area, creating 132 jobs in the city across the build and post opening.
Experienced food operators The Milestone Group will bring the food hall to Liverpool under its brand ‘General Post Office’ which is a nod to the former use of the building as Liverpool’s head Post Office. Set to be the largest food hall in the city centre, it will focus on a wide variety of cuisines under one roof, championing independent regional operators above all else and offering support and incubation for the best this emerging food scene has to offer.
Confirmed operators include, Bullion Craft Bean Café, Restaurant Konjo, Jail Bird Nashville Fired Chicken, Patty B’s Burgers, Thai 25, Dirty Herb Vegan Chicken and Bubble Tea.
The opening of GPO will complete the remixing of Metquarter and will complement the varied offer bringing new life and activity to the remainder of the building and surrounding area. This will bring Metquarter back to a significantly let position in a market place that has been greatly challenged. The repositioning of the building is now being seen as a shining example of how to repurpose retail property.
