Thorntons store opens in Liverpool ONE

  • October 24, 2019
  • Editor

The newly refurbished Liverpool Thorntons store re-opened its doors at the Liverpool One shopping centre this week, having been officially welcomed to the city by The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Anna Rothery.

Thorntons has over 100 years’ experience in confectionery – starting its journey in Sheffield in 1911 where Joseph Thornton had the clear ambition to make his shop “the best sweet shop in town”.  Thorntons then grew its experience and knowledge around confectionery craftmanship with the introduction of Easter Eggs in 1922, a unique toffee recipe in 1924 and the launch of Thorntons Continental in 1954.  From then, until now, Thorntons is proud to share its range of premium and quality products with the nation – and the people of Liverpool.

The Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Anna Rothery was joined by Dawn Breen, Thorntons Store Manager, to cut the ribbon at the unveiling of the new-look Thorntons Liverpool store. Open to the public from Thursday 24th October, the store offers customers the chance to witness the love, passion and care that goes into each and every Thorntons product.

Thorntons will also ‘Pass the Love on’ to customers by welcoming them into the refurbished café. An array of delectable delights are available for customers to try, including Salted Caramel Torte, White Chocolate & Raspberry Cheesecake and Lemon Tart. For a truly memorable experience, visitors can enjoy afternoon tea for two, featuring a delicious tiered platter with a selection of some of the UK’s most loved treats. This includes a choice of sandwiches, sultana or cheese scones, two individual cakes and a selection of Thorntons chocolates served alongside two hot drinks from the menu.

There are also plenty of opportunities to make any gift extra special by adding a personalised touch with the help of the specially trained experts in store, a service that only Thorntons can deliver. Chocolate models can be hand personalised with Thorntons icing and beautifully wrapped, creating a gift to treasure. The Thorntons Christmas range will also be in stores including a range of Advent Calendars for young ones and adults alike – all of which can be personalised in store.

Sarah Ingram, Retail Director of Thorntons says “We are thrilled to open our refurbished Thorntons store in Liverpool – it gives us the opportunity to demonstrate to existing and new customers the love and passion we have for our chocolates – the dedication to delivering beautifully crafted gifts that we pride ourselves on.  We look forward to welcoming our customers to enjoy the Thorntons experience in the store and café.”
