The Wheelbarrow, located next to the Greenbank Sports Academy, is set to flourish this spring with the launch of an exciting new menu and a newly refurbished stylish south-facing 60-cover outdoor terrace.
With a mixture of fresh and artificial all-weather planting, giant umbrellas for shade, and outdoor speakers, the beautiful space is sure to become one of South Liverpool’s most sought-after summer hot spots.
The popular south Liverpool venue, which recently celebrated its first birthday, has become a huge hit with local residents and businesses, as well as attracting customers from further afield.
This week sees the launch of the Spring/Summer menu, serving a range of hearty and healthy breakfast options, including everything from a wholesome Full English Breakfast (vegetarian and vegan options available) to a fantastic selection of lighter options, including Shakshuka, Croque Monsieur, fruit salad, breakfast bars, and artisan toast.
Alternatively, enjoy a sumptuous lunch in the chilled-out surroundings of the rustic yet classy venue and enjoy a choice of snacks, sandwiches, starters, plates, and sides to tantalise your tastebuds.
Sandwiches include the ever-popular pan-fried chicken breast, bacon, Snowdonia cheddar cheese, tomato, and mayonnaise on a toasted ciabatta (£10.50), IPA beer-battered coley goujons, lettuce, and homemade tartare sauce served on a toasted brioche (£10). Alternatively, enjoy falafel, roasted Mediterranean vegetables, red onion, tomato, spinach, vegan mayonnaise, and siracha chilli sauce served on a warm tortilla wrap (£13).
Starters include king prawns, crispy deep-fried chicken wings, and whipped vegan feta.
The Plates menu is a gastronomic delight with something for everyone, including a selection of hot and cold dishes, a few home comforts, and popular pasta dishes. From a rustic salad made with croutons, tomato, red onion, olives, capers, fresh basil, and parsley (£11), to pan-fried free-range chicken breast, crispy bacon, lettuce, croutons, homemade Caesar dressing, and parmesan (£15), Popular hot dishes, including Penne Arrabiata and King Prawn Spaghetti, are also on the menu. We fully expect one of our most popular dishes to be the memory-inducing Home Roast Yorkshire Ham with Fried Eggs, Triple Cooked Chips, and Garden Peas (£14), with a hearty Deep Fried Falafel also on the menu. All dishes can be topped up with sides, including chunky chips, skinny fries, or pan-fried halloumi.
