Next month, Liverpool City Council will host a new market in one of the most iconic venues in the city, St George’s Hall, and it is now inviting traders to get involved.

The market will take place in St George’s Hall and is now inviting traders to apply to be a part of its inaugural event on Sunday, June 16.

The council’s markets team will set up stalls both inside and outside the hall, looking for craft and artisanal traders selling goods like clothing, accessories, jewellery, or food and drink. Only outside stalls selling hot food are welcome.

At the Lime Street corner of the plateau, there will be space for about 20 food vendors’ stalls and around 70 tables inside the building.

Charges for stalls are:

  • Indoor – £60 + VAT
  • Outdoor – £70 + VAT
  • Outdoor stalls selling hot food – £80 + VAT

Applications are now open. Traders should email liverpoolmarkets@liverpool.gov.uk with their contact details and information on what they would like to sell. The deadline for applications is Friday, 31 May.

The St George’s Hall Market is scheduled to be held seasonally four times a year.

The market, which will be free to the public, will be open from 10.30am-4.40pm.

From the weekly Great Homer Street Market to the frequent schedule of farmers’ and craft markets, Liverpool boasts a well-established market offer.

Cllr Harry Doyle, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Culture, said:

“We’re delighted that this summer we will be trialling a new market in Liverpool’s cultural quarter in such a well-loved and iconic building as St George’s Hall.

“The outside of the Hall and St John’s Gardens have been a great venue for the Christmas markets for the past few years and now we’re looking forward to using both the inside and the outside at a different point in the calendar. We’re confident that traders will get a real boost from having it as a backdrop to their businesses.

“So if you’re a trader please apply and help us make this first event a success!”
