It is time for Everton to prove themselves against the big boys.
They responded in immaculate style against Leeds with a 2-1 win after a dismal defeat against Newcastle now it is time for the Blues to go one better.
Every week Carlo Ancelotti is asked about the Champions League and he always says it is a dream, but now it is time to turn that into a reality with a win at Old Trafford.
Two times these famous sides have came up against each other this season and the Red Devils have came out on top twice in resounding victories.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer denied Everton a chance to get into the League Cup final in the latest game between the pair, so the Italian needs to get his revenge.
He will try to do that without Jordan Pickford and Allan though with the two players still ruled out due to injury.
Allan though is back in training but the came will come too early for him whilst Ancelotti is hopeful that Jordan Pickford will be back for their next game in the FA Cup.
Therefore, that means Robin Olsen will be starting in goal again after a performance that singlehandedly won Everton the game.
The double save was the highlight with Olsen reacting to a deflected shot in fantastic style before quickly getting back to his feet to save again.
Even if Pickford were back from injury it would have been hard for Olsen to not start again due to the Leeds game.
In his press conference for the game Ancleotti did explain he had a plan for Olsen saying: “When Pickford is back, he can play like he does normally but Olsen is also going to play some games.”
Infront of Olsen will be Ben Godfrey who is slowly but surely becoming one of the signings of the season with his monstrous defensive performances and he has won the hearts of every Evertonian.
Ancelotti had this to say: “He is doing really well. It was surprise for me. I knew him, but not a lot. But I found a really fantastic defender. He is powerful, lot of energy, tactically intelligent, really aggressive.”
If you are Ben Godfrey hearing that you would be feeling on top of the world, it is amazing praise of one of the best managers in the world.
Carlo Ancelotti will be rotating players for the game as James Rodriguez was rested for Leeds United and will be coming back into the starting eleven.
Manchester United will be coming off the back of a 9-0 victory against Southampton but hopefully for Everton one of their players won’t get sent off in the second minute.
Bruno Fernandes will be the main danger man for Everton to watch out for as he has been for every side in the league this season but with Doucoure being in impressive form you would not bet against him keeping him quiet.
Everton have a chance to make a statement on Saturday night.
A statement to not the rest of the league but a statement to their supporters.
That they are ready to beat the big boys for once and for all this season.
