Premier League: Aston Villa vs Everton; ‘Our season has to be considered a good season’

Only two games ago Everton failed to take anything off Aston Villa in another seriously disappointing home performance.

A late winner from Anwar El Ghazi put the nail in the coffin for Everton and condemned them to a home loss.

Now Everton must dust themselves down and ready to go again against Aston Villa but thankfully for them they are away from home this time.

The reason the games are so close together is because the original fixture was postponed due to Aston Villa’s Covid breakout.

Whatever happens in this game and the remaining other games doesn’t matter in Carlo Ancelotti’s mind as he is sure that this season has been a good one.

He said: “Our season has to be considered a good season, but we have to wait for the last four games. We want to put all our energy on our target.”

Europa League is that target as Ancelotti revealed he believes the top four is now out of range for his side.

So another victory away from home will be vital but Aston Villa should have one of their key men back.

Jack Grealish.

He has lit up the he Premier League at times this season so it’ll be great to see him back however he may only be fit enough for the bench.

Ollie Watkins won’t be available though so even when there’s good news there is bad news when it comes to injuries for Aston Villa and for every team in the league this season.

In terms of injury news for Everton the Colombian duo of Yerry Mina and James Rodriguez are out.

Ancelotti knows his team cannot play anything like they did in the reverse fixture as the Italian said: “We have learnt to play differently.

“It was one of the worst performances we have had this season. We are going to play differently”

We shall see how differently Everton do play but back to back wins would help them a lot in their race for Europa League.

So, no pressure.
