Popeyes® UK has announced that the doors of its brand-new Liverpool restaurant will open on Friday 22nd November at 11am.

The all-new Popeyes, home of Famous Louisiana Chicken, will be located at the New Mersey Retail Park in Speke. This marks the brand’s 2nd restaurant in the region and its 31st opening this year, as part of its continued expansion around the UK.

Popeyes is set to pull out all the stops to showcase its New Orleans hospitality as it brings another taste of Louisiana to Liverpool. This follows the success of its restaurant on Lord Street in Liverpool city centre which opened in November 2022.

To celebrate the launch, Popeyes® will be hosting a massive giveaway*. On its opening day, the first 100 customers will receive a free Chicken Sandwich, plus exclusive Popeyes® UK merchandise. The first 3 people queuing in-line will win the ultimate prize of free Chicken Sandwiches for a whole year.

Guests looking to visit on launch day are advised to get down quickly to beat the round-the-block queues which have become synonymous with Popeyes® UK restaurant openings, with eager chicken fans queuing at the Lord Street site from as early as 10pm the night before.

Ahead of the launch, fans can also enter for the chance of winning a famous Chicken Sandwich by signing up via the Popeyes® UK website.

The flavour of New Orleans will arrive in New Mersey, as the restaurant will open with the full Popeyes® menu. The line up includes fan favourites like the iconic Popeyes® Chicken Sandwich, crispy Hot Wings, Tenders, and Signature Chicken Wraps in Classic, Spicy, and BBQ. Each piece of Popeyes famous chicken is marinated for 12 hours in a signature blend of Louisiana herbs and spices, then hand-breaded and battered for that world-famous ‘shatter crunch,’ and complemented by delicious sides like its Southern Biscuits and Cajun Gravy.

Popeyes will also be serving up its breakfast menu from 8am on Saturday 23rd November. Packed with British breakfast classics with a New Orleans twist, the menu features the Big Cajun Roll, Cajun Hash Browns and indulgent Nutella-topped buttermilk biscuits.

Breakfast will then be available 8am until 11am every day, and will even include a Breakfast meal deal for just £1.99 – consisting of the Bacon Breakfast roll, a Cajun Hash Brown and a drink – which can be claimed exclusively through the brand-new Popeyes® UK app, available to download here now.

Tom Crowley, Popeyes® UK Chief Executive Officer, commented:

“We can’t wait to give even more people across Merseyside the chance to enjoy our famous Louisiana chicken with the opening of our new location at New Mersey Retail Park in Speke.

“After the success of our first Liverpool restaurant, we’re sure our New Mersey location will be equally as popular, and look forward to welcoming customers later this month.”
