The stage is set for a magical evening of musical theatre and dance, as Liverpool Theatre School students prepare to dazzle the audience at New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion with an impressive summer showcase. The Performance will take place from 7pm on Tuesday 25th June.

Starring more than 60 talented young people, The Performance sees the school’s first and second year elite students share the stage with graduates, as they perform showstopping songs from the musicals and carefully choreographed dance routines. There will also be a special appearance from the rising stars at Liverpool Theatre School’s Junior Academy.

Showcasing the breadth of talent at the centre of excellence, The Performance takes the audience on a remarkable journey through the glamour of a Paris fashion show and up to the dizzy heights of London’s rooftops, via the Arabian desert. The finale promises to bring them to their feet with a celebration of rock ’n’ roll legend, Tina Turner.

Liverpool Theatre School Principal, Maxine Ellis, said:

“Our summer show is one of the most important dates on the events calendar at Liverpool Theatre School and we can’t wait to entertain family, friends and the local community with a wonderful evening of musical theatre and dance. Expect to enjoy glitz, glamour, breathtaking vocals and perfectly executed dance routines from jazz and commercial to tap and ballet.

“We’re beyond excited to be bringing the whole school together for such a special show, with performances from the very youngest students in our Junior Academy to our professional musical theatre and dance graduates, who are already starting to land some exciting roles in the industry. It’s going to be an incredible evening and a fantastic celebration of the talent at Liverpool Theatre School.”

The Performance forms part of the school’s 85th anniversary celebrations, which are running throughout the year. The specialist stage school, rated outstanding in all areas by Ofsted, boasts a long list of success stories, with graduates starring in hit shows such as SIX, Frozen the Musical, Blood Brothers and Wicked.

The school accepts only the most talented students on its elite training programmes in dance, musical theatre and acting, which are all designed to give young people the skills they need to pursue professional careers in the performing arts industry. As part of a commitment to making professional training more accessible to young performers from working class backgrounds, Liverpool Theatre School offers a number of fully funded places and bursaries every year including the Dance and Drama Awards (DaDA) and the Sir Ken Dodd Scholarship. The special bursary was recently introduced in honour of the late comedian, who was a much-loved patron.

Liverpool Theatre School’s Junior Academy provides evening and weekend classes for all young people from age 4 – 16. To find out more about Liverpool Theatre School, please visit the website.
