Liverpool-based, homeware brand, Berry & Bay, has teamed up with LIDS (Liverpool Independent Delivery Services) and some of the area’s best independents, to create a unique and indulgent Valentine’s Day treat.
The Valentine’s Indoor Picnic is a luxury treasure chest featuring the very best products from the region’s most popular artisans, featuring products from the likes of the Liverpool Cheese Company, Mrs Danvers’ Cafe, ThinK Wine, Bookers Flowers & Gifts, as well as local makers Scry Alchemy and Skyn Bakery, not forgetting Berry & Bay providing a luxury picnic blanket.
Both Berry & Bay and LIDS came to life as a result of the 2020 lockdowns, with both aiming to support local businesses and makers.
Jayne Moore, managing director of Berry & Bay, said:
“Berry & Bay is designed to provide ethically made products at the finest quality. We want to provide beautiful items, all while minimising plastic and nasty chemicals, replacing with the highest quality ingredients.
“We are a value-led business, committed to working with local, independent-makers that share our values. After all, every pound spent locally is recycled up to eight times. Where we do have international partners, we are both committed to maintaining traditional skills, while also ensuring our high quality ethical standards are met. The need to support our local businesses is now more important than ever, so we approached LIDS with the idea of the indoor picnic for Valentine’s Day.”
Dave Critchley, founder & CEO of LIDS, said:
“Collaborations between our suppliers are always hugely popular – our Christmas hamper supporting several suppliers in one purchase sold out as soon as we launched it. It’s really clear that people want to support local businesses in such a turbulent time and it’s been incredible to receive the support we have.
“With the Valentine’s Picnic you’re spoilt for choice really, not only can you get all the amazing Berry & Bay products that make for a beautiful gift in their own right, but we have a number of our lovely suppliers onboard too.
“Mrs Danvers’ treat box is just full of absolute delights, from cakes and sweets to chocolate dipped strawberries, and alongside that a Valentine’s platter of cheese from the Liverpool Cheese Company, who are just incredible at what they do – we’re really lucky to have them! Then there’s stunning flowers from Booker Flowers and Gifts, and another of our suppliers, ThinK Wine, because everyone needs bubbles for Valentine’s!
“There are a number of options available too for different budgets and people can add on to their orders too and do some mixing and matching.”
Berry & Bay works with artisan makers across the Liverpool City Region, stocking a range of goods from vegan skincare company Skyn Bakery and essential oil candle company Scry Candles. All products on the Berry & Bay website are made ethically, with very little plastic or harmful chemicals.
LIDS hosts all manner of local Liverpool businesses on its website, including goods from some of the city’s favourite restaurants, delis and bars.
