Liverpool foodhall and deli ‘Delifonseca’ shortlisted for Farm Shopping & Deli Awards for fifth time.
Led by proprietor Candice Fonseca, Delifonseca has been announced as a regional finalist at the annual event, which celebrates some of nation’s best specialist retailers.
The Liverpool foodhall and deli, which won Foodhall of the Year and North West Retailer of the Year back in 2017, beat off tough competition and hundreds of other entries, spanning 12 categories in nine regions.
The 2022 Farm Shop & Deli Awards are placing emphasis on how specialist retailers have shown innovation to adapt their business during the unprecedented past 12-18 months.
Speaking from their Brunswick base, Candice said:
“When Covid hit back in March 2020, it meant that 60% of our business was forced to close overnight. We were confronted by several challenges that left us with little choice but to think creatively in order to survive. No matter the challenges we’ve faced, we continue to establish ourselves as a foodie hub that people love, while continuing to champion independent businesses.”
A panel of esteemed judges chose venues that are seen as pillars of their communities and champions of great food and sustainable produce. The regional winners will be revealed live from Farm Shop & Deli Show, at the NEC Birmingham this coming Monday (April 25).
