Liverpool Film Office is seeking individuals who aspire to launch their career in the film and TV industry, and is introducing a new skills initiative called ‘Action’.
The objective of the Film Officeupport to approx is to provide simately 1,000 individuals in the next three years. This will be accomplished through the delivery of a creative and cost-free skills training program. The aim of this training program is to develop a more robust and diverse screen industry in the Liverpool City Region.
The programme has been designed to offer career surgeries, training sessions, workshops, industry bootcamps, access to additional employability assets, masterclasses with established crew, and opportunities for paid placements on set.
Applicants who are 18 years or older, reside in the Liverpool City Region, possess the right to work in the UK, and are not currently enrolled in higher or further education are eligible to apply for the programme.
To participate, individuals should enroll as a ‘New Entrant’ on the Liverpool Film Office Crew database and indicate their primary area of interest.
Upon completion of the registration process, newly enrolled individuals will receive information regarding forthcoming openings. Since there is a restricted number of spots accessible for each event, they will be requested to complete an application form.
Screen Alliance North, a new skills cluster partnership delivered by Liverpool Film Office, North East Screen, Screen Manchester, and Screen Yorkshire, has been enabled by a sum of £2.3m BFI National Lottery funding. This funding has made Action! possible.
The objective of the collaboration is to enhance accessibility and diversity within the screen industry, and to foster a proficient and prosperous workforce throughout Northern England.

“As a City Council we are committed to doing everything we can to give residents the skills they need to be employment-ready, and in doing so make sectors like the TV and film industry as diverse and inclusive as possible.”

“We’re thrilled to be able to announce Action! and cannot wait to see a whole new cohort of film and TV crew coming through our training process and beginning their career in the industry.
“Under Screen Alliance North, we want to bridge the gap when it comes to training and securing a first job in the industry, working closely with our partners to build a stronger and more inclusive workforce.
“These opportunities will be tailored to specific skill set to ensure we are providing a real taste of what it’s like to work on a production.
