Liverpool FC reveal their brand-new 24-25 home kit for next season, a fresh remix of the legendary pattern and print from 1984, worn with such distinction by club heroes such as Dalglish, Rush, Neal and Hansen.
Wearing this original kit, manager Joe Fagan guided the team to the European Cup in Rome that year, where they emerged victorious in a nail-biting penalty shootout.
The retro kit design, remixed for the modern game, features a chrome yellow pattern of the club’s YNWA motto, etched into the fabric of the shirt. The jersey has a unique collar, with traditional yellow and red detailing, a nod to the iconic collar worn by the ’84 team. Both the shirt and short have yellow and white side panelling.
On the reverse of the jersey, the 97-emblem encased by the eternal flames sits proudly at the nape of the neck in memory of those children, women and men who were unlawfully killed as a result of the Hillsborough disaster.
Made with Dri-Fit ADV, which breathes with you, this advanced technology with moisture-wicking material ensures faster evaporation to stay dry and comfortable from kick-off to the final whistle. A retro print to suit the needs of today’s elite players.
The host city of the celebrated ’84 final is also the inspiration for the creative campaign video and photography. Fusing fashion and football, the look pairs the new jersey with premium Italian inspired fashion pieces and elevated styling. Set to The Humming Chorus from Giacomo Puccini’s opera Madame Butterfly soundtrack, the setting conveys Italian classicism with tonal stucco-style backdrops, marble textured flooring, pillars and ornate furniture. The new LFC pattern is embellished within some customised Italian themed props.
Featuring men’s players captain Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mo Salah, Alisson Becker, Harvey Elliott, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Curtis Jones. Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez. Featuring women’s players Taylor Hinds, Missy Bo Kearns, Mia Enderby and Marie Hobinger.
Liverpool FC Men’s club captain van Dijk said:
“I’m a big fan of our new kit for next season and love the fact we’re bringing the retro vibe back. We are a club build on history and the 1984 team was one of our most successful ever. I’m sure our fans will appreciate the nod to those club legends.”
Women’s vice-captain Taylor Hinds added:
“It’s such a different look for the new season, and we can’t wait to wear it. The retro inspiration always makes you feel a part of the club’s history is with you as you play.”
It is available to pre-order from today on LFC’s official online store, in official LFC stores (UK and Internationally) and the LFC Retail App for delivery from launch day 16 May.
In line with LFC’s The Red Way sustainability programme, the Nike kit is sustainably made, with on the pitch and replica jerseys constructed with 100% recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.
Plastic bottles are collected, cleaned and melted down to produce a high-quality yarn for manufacturing and is part of Nike’s wider Move to Zero initiative, with football apparel leading the way in sustainability.
The club’s name and number style for the back of shirt, takes inspiration from the city, with a contemporary take on Liverpool’s historic street signs. The product is printed with water-based inks as a more sustainable option and will be worn for cup competitions and friendlies.
Jerseys can also be personalised with Premier League or Women’s Super League name and number. At launch the 23-24 squad lists will be used to print on the new home jersey during the pre-order and launch phase. The full 24-25 squad lists for men’s and women’s will be confirmed ahead of the new season. Full T&Cs on shirt printing available here.
