Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston, lifelong Reds and much-loved TV combo, have reunited for Liverpool FC’s Christmas advert.
They are best known as Jim and Barbara Royle in their 40-year on-screen partnership, which inspired this 60-second seasonal delight.
Ricky and Sue play Nan and Grandad to one excited young Red in this adaptation of a traditional seasonal tale. Ricky and Sue recount the lines as the child falls off into a bizarre dream as they read the bedtime story on Christmas Eve with an LFC twist.
She imagines her Liverpool FC heroes performing seasonal customs and chores. Virgil Van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Wataru Endo, Curtis Jones, Rachael Laws, and Gemma Bonner are among the Liverpool FC players in the squad.
Forever Red John Aldridge makes a brief appearance, reenacting the legendary 1988 FA Cup Anfield rap.
