In partnership with the renowned Liverpool-based graphic design agency Bolland & Lowe, a new logo and brand identity have been designed to celebrate the Liverpool Empire’s centenary as an iconic city landmark.
“What a privilege it is to have the opportunity to mark this momentous occasion,” says Theatre Director, Diane Belding.“It’s been a delight for the team and I to work alongside Bolland & Lowe to capture the love out there for the Empire Theatre and create a brand identity that will take us through our 100th birthday year and beyond.”

“What an honour to have the chance to create a new look and brand for the venue at this special moment in its history,” says Head of Marketing & Comminications Stephen Ainsworth. “It’s been a fantastic experience working with the skilled team at Bolland & Lowe to create a fitting brand for this wonderful theatre. The logo references the Empire’s famous proscenium arch that frames the stage, and original designs of its logo that go back over the past 100 years.”
The Liverpool Empire Theatre is celebrating its 100th birthday throughout 2025 and the new logo and brand identity will accompany all iconography and promotional material from now on.

“We’ve had the privilege of collaborating with the Empire Theatre to create their new brand identity, incorporating their centennial anniversary logo,” says Bolland & Lowe director John Lowe. “This project has truly celebrated the theatre’s rich history, allowing us to dive into the diverse performances they’ve showcased over the past 100 years. It’s an honour to help visually tell the story of such a landmark institution while honouring its legacy and vibrant future.”
The Liverpool Empire Theatre is the UK’s largest two-tier theatre, showcasing top touring productions. From musicals and dance to comedy and drama, it offers a diverse programme and stands as one of the city’s most iconic venues.
